What AI Brief Assist does
AI Brief Assist reads plain text you paste and proposes values for eligible brief or request fields. It can also return short clarification questions when details are missing.
AI drafts. People decide. AI Brief Assist creates a draft. It does not accept work, approve scope, save a brief, create a job, or submit a request.
- Generate returns suggestions only
- Review happens in the product UI
- Apply copies selected values into the draft form
- Save, Create, and Submit remain manual actions
Where it appears
- Create Project: optional AI Brief Assist panel after you choose a brief template
- Existing job brief: optional AI Brief Assist panel for users with write access
- Public request form: optional panel before eligible fields when the studio opts in per template
Template setting: Offer AI Brief Assist on this public request. Helper copy explains that visitors can paste notes to draft the public fields you allow.
What is sent
Lenso sends the text you paste, the eligible field structure, and relevant current values to its configured AI provider. Nothing is applied or submitted automatically. Avoid information the brief does not need.
- Pasted source text
- Eligible field structure from the current template or public form
- Relevant current values for fields marked as includable
- No uploaded files, images, PDFs, or external URLs fetched by Lenso
Sensitive categories such as email, phone, address, payment, signature, legal acceptance, and internal pricing fields are not AI eligible by default.
What Lenso records
Lenso needs limited operational metadata to enforce usage, investigate failures, measure the feature, and estimate provider cost.
- Suggestion run ID, surface, provider, model, status, latency, and token counts
- Counts of eligible fields, suggested fields, and clarification questions
- Applied field keys and whether values changed after apply
- No raw pasted text, prompts, provider responses, or suggested values in the AI usage ledger
When a person applies and later saves or submits the draft, the resulting brief values become part of the normal request or job record. That is separate from the AI usage ledger.
How suggestions are applied

- Review each proposed field with its label and current value
- Select the empty fields you want to fill

Existing field values are never replaced automatically. Invalid suggestions cannot be selected.

- Check select, date, URL, and table values for accuracy
- Use clarification questions with the client when needed
- Remove anything the brief does not need before saving or submitting
Questions to clarify
Clarification questions are optional helpers. Copying them does not send them anywhere and they do not become required fields automatically.
Availability and limits
- Global rollout flag: AI_BRIEF_ASSIST_ENABLED (legacy alias: AI_BRIEF_BUILDER_ENABLED)
- Workspace write entitlement and current usage allowance
- Studio rate limit: 10 requests per hour per user
- Public form: 20 to 8,000 characters, Turnstile when enabled, and stricter anonymous throttles
- Studio input cap: 12,000 characters
Provider, training, and retention
Lenso sends the approved AI context to its configured provider to create the draft. Lenso does not use customer content to train a Lenso-owned model. Provider handling, including temporary retention, follows the current provider account and the Privacy Policy.
What it does not do
- Accept a project request
- Approve scope or proofs
- Create a quote, contract, or job automatically
- Invite a client automatically
- Save or submit a brief automatically
- Read uploaded files or browse external URLs
Troubleshooting
- AI Brief Assist is temporarily unavailable: continue manually or try again later
- No public panel: confirm the template has public request and AI Brief Assist enabled
- Input too long: trim pasted text to the cap for your surface
- Rate limited: wait and retry; public forms use separate Turnstile tokens for suggest vs submit
- Nothing to apply: the provider may have returned clarification questions only
